Swear allegiance
to what is nighest your thoughts.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn’t go. Be like the fox
who makes more tracks than necessary,
some in the wrong direction.
Practice resurrection.

Description:
Can a chicken’s life story help us understand our own?
A small-town farm girl finds herself pulled between South America and South Carolina. Inspired by the birds that defined her childhood, and that have accompanied human migration for millenia, she reflects on what it means to be a traveler in the 21st century. Dreamt up on her parents’ 50- acre chicken farm and developed in Lima, Peru, this unique performance is rooted in international collective creation.
